Details
On March 18, 2000, Richie was on beach the in Cancun in the rain. Clayton Moore appeared and said that Atlantus, Dru, Erik, and Roarke would soon arrive and they would be working for another power. Clayton left moments before the players arrived. Dru was medicated with Thorazine. Atlantus told Richie about the Roarke and Atlantus visit Atlantis incident. Richie and Roarke went to Richie's suite to fetch the Big Honking Knife. The knife was glowing when Richie opened the safe. Roarke was burned by contact with the knife, but Richie was not affected. Richie returned the knife to the safe and they rejoined the other players on the beach. The players on the beach were discussing a cabal headed by the Queen of Darkness, with Odin represented by the King of Light, Loki by Clayton Moore, and perhaps Loki by the Knight of Pattern as well. Erik thought Victor Strong to be a shard of Odin serving a death god, the god Lila had to cut her way out of in the clicky-brick incident, but the other players disagreed. Arcadia, which they realized because the rain disappeared. Richie and Roarke checked his room for the Big Honking Knife and, as expected, it was not there. Dru told Richie that the players had been sent to fetch him by the Cabal. The players were then in a room with the Cabal. The Queen of Darkness asked if the players had reached a decision on cooperating. Cain said he would participate in a perverted ritual, but wanted nothing to do with The Ritual performed purely. Richie said he wouldn't konw the difference. Loki claimed to have been the pink bunny, and said that he was against a pure performance of The Ritual because the only possible outcomes were pure order or pure chaos. Loki said the players should meet with other cabals before attempting The Ritual. He also said they needed more objects, such as the Scepter of Life and Death, the Big Honking Knife, and the pure elements. Cain, if holding the scepter, would serve as the pure offering and the Gate between the worlds. The players had pure water, kept in Atlantus' canteen, received from Gaia in the releasing Gaia from the blood-wall cell incident. The members of the Cabal froze and Clayton Moore walked in. Clayton said the players needed neither the Cabal nor any of their tools. He said the players should gather their own power and be wary of cabals. Clayton left and the players told the Cabal that they would consider the offer. The players decided to meet in Wu Chen's loft four days from their return to the world.
