Next thing I know, I wake up in a not-police lab on this gurney and there's Roarke on another gurney and we're both strapped down. Roarke starts trying to get out of the straps and she tells me to try to get out of mine too and so I start wriggling around and I knock the table over and bounce my head off the floor and knock myself cold.
Richie celebrates becoming a vampire:
Well, this and that and I wasn't going to mention it, but damn it was funny to play with ol' Roarke right then. She can't go fifteen feet away from Vengeance and I was running around like an idiot, bare ass naked and making airplane noises with my arms out and making strafing runs past her ass and all. That was just funny. It was like I was high or something.
Richie captures evil weasel Thomas Allbright:
He was all wait, wait, wait, you don't know what you're doing, but he was totally wrong. I was gonna kill his ass.

I forget what she said 'cause it took like for-goddam-ever for her to get to the point and I didn't know what she wanted when she stopped, so I let it go. Blah, blah, blah.

Dru apologized for us just busting into his node without asking 'cause Roarke wouldn't say it and Dru was all huffy 'cause she thought Roarke oughta say it but there was no way those words were gonna come out of Roarke's mouth. Not today, not tomorrow, not next millennium.
From Richie's journal:
We ended up in Napa in the middle 50s and there was this mental patient there saying he got his point and that was Mr Deadman and that was me. They asked me if I wanted to go in to talk to me but I said no way, I’m crazy.
Sean: *Sniff* "O positive."
Roarke: "I'm not O positive."
Maddog: "You would be negative."
Richie: "Why would I want to rescue Spike? I didn't even want to save an alternate me in another world when Dru wanted to save him."
Roarke: "But you hate our Spike. Maybe you'll like this one."
Richie: "I didn’t tell you to have sex with Thomas Kincaide."
Roarke: "We weren’t a couple then. I was bored."
Richie: "Oh, well fuck him then."
